This wonderful painting captures the hot, thick, humid air and the breathtaking vista of the mountains surrounding Hong Kong. The pastel hues are thoughtfully chosen, creating a scene that one never tires of viewing. Excellent condition.
Emerson Burkhart – 'Farm on the River'

Like many young artists, Burkhart spent time early in his career experimenting with different styles. This work is a prime example. An inscription on the back indicates it was given to Paul Yeager by Burkhart in 1942 and notes it was “painted in class.” At the time, Burkhart was painting independently, so the inscription does not refer to a literal class setting. Excellent condition.

This bright piece is typical of burkhart’s outdoor scenes painted in the last few years of his life. He spent much of the decade of the ’60’s interpreting a variety of landscapes throughout delaware county, one of his favorite locales.
